Hello (again)
Well, it has been ... checks watch ... roughly eight-and-a-half years(!) since I've posted something to the old blog. Eek!

Woof. That thing feels ... dated. Time to start over!
So, what's going on here?
I, like many, have been out of work for a few months now. Since the new year started, I began noodling on what to do next, and only in the last couple of weeks have the pieces begun to fall into place.

It turns out, I can consider my months of scrolling and shitposting on Bluesky as Researchâ„¢ because the thing that clicked is, building apps on AT Protocol isn't just the cool thing the kids are doing, it is a great way to build equitable, accessible, and open products for social good.
Sooo, this blog will be a lot like the original, but with a focus on the following over the next few months:
- AT Protocol and its ecosystem, learning it, and hopefully contributing to it
- Building apps on top of AT Protocol, how it works, tools that make it happen, how to think differently about an app on it, and more
- Node.js and the frameworks on top of it (Nest, Sails, LoopBack ...) because consuming ATProto firehose and other tasks all have reference implementations in Node or Go (and I don't have time to also learn Go right now!)
More broadly, I will also tackle topics of ethics in tech, accessibility and inclusion, and maybe drop a few chapters form a book I am planning right now about what it is like being a design/develop/product kind of person.
Say more ...
... said no one ever to me.
If you, for some masochistic reason, want a few more details about me, what this blog once was, or pictures of my dog and info about my Halloween projects, then head over to the About page.
And you can always find me on Bluesky, should you want even more scattershot Tepid Takes.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope to see more of you soon!
